Loose Talk Cost Lives – Wax & Gold
Model Village – EP
IVienna are a band from Bournemouth (land of ferocious squirrels and proper drumming). Check out ‘Exertion’, a slice of pop with some very sharp teeth. And if you liked it, you can get it here for zero pesos (that’ll be free). Links Facebook. Myspace. Twitter. Soundcloud. Continue reading Wake up to … IVienna
Still Flyin’ – A party in motion
The Skinny : Synth overdose.
The review proper: Might have to get something out of my chest before starting this review. A party in motion is a bit too 80s for my own tastes. Drum machines, synths and even a sax (‘Victory walker (2 AM)’).
The third album from LA-based band The Dollyrots presents the listener with more sunshine than a beach holiday on the Costa Del Sol. It’s not surprising given that the band migrated from the ‘Sunshine State’ (that’s Florida to you and me folks – Ed) to California; the album is distilled fluffy summer fun.
Essentially A Little Messed Up is pop punk music with emphasis on the ‘pop’. That’s not to say that The Dollyrots can’t rock out, after all the band is signed to Joan Jett’s label Blackheart Records. The Dollyrots seems to straddle the gap between Blink 182 and Katy Perry; they wouldn’t seem out of place on a Warped Tour roster or if one of their songs was the title theme for an MTV reality show.

Someone still loves you Boris Yeltsin – Let it Sway
The Skinny : Bubbly, fun and actually awesome.
The review gushing proper: Actually, could I persuade you to get this free song before? Take it as evidence. Or just press play before reading what follows.
Just Handshakes (We’re British) – Interview
“I’m not being filmed, am I?” asks Clara (voice, keyboard) as the camera-passing-as-Dictaphone is precariously balanced. “It’s filming but I’ll delete the footage”, assures them. “The video output is the size of my thumb”.
Sitting besides Clara are Stephanie (Drums) and Mike (Guitar). They are Just Handshakes (We’re British) and the atmosphere is cosy, maybe an 7 out of 10 in the scale of snuggles. On the sloucher.org side of spectrum it’s PM and Sam doing the third degree duty on the band.
Wake up to some classic 90’s cheesy soft-rock pop from an unfairly underrated musician (who also happens to own a pair of the coolest glasses in the world) – Misky Continue reading Wake up song for today -95
