The fine people of Bad Owl (purveyors of great live music) have cool lil’ festival for you people bored of Easter Biblical films. StrangeThis very weekend, 19th and 20th of April, at the Wharf Chambers in Leeds, you’ll get a veritable cornucopia of bands, all for the grand total of 9 quid per day (or 15 for the whole weekend, so you know you need to go both days).
Each day has music from 3 ’til to 11 pm, with the fine folks of Echoes and Dust djing (please don’t ask them to play Simply Red – how do you think I lost an arm?)
Food will be sold (vegan and veggie options only – omnivores will suffer, carnivores will be turned away at the door) by That old chestnut and The Grub & Grog shop
Now, although some of these bands are rather great, we have a couple of specific, sure fire recommendations:
Monsters Build Mean Robots
Previous coverage: album review.
The Fierce & The Dead
Alpha Male Tea Party
Tomorrow We Sail
And that’s all I wrote. Enjoy and RSVP. Remember that you need to buy a membership to Wharf Chambers (1 pound) and it takes 48 hours to get it approved, so, uh, get buying now.
