Jay Leighton
After being in the pop rock band Buffalo ’77, Jay Leighton changed directions into a smoother type of pop. Taking part of a tour with Lou Rhodes (of Lamb fame, who now dabbles in folk), Jay tried some fun at a more acoustic approach, with some heavy pop sensibilities and strings thrown in for good measurement, with a slightly 70’s pop feel in the sound (check his track ‘Happiness and good intentions’ – my fave)
Previously reviewed by our site in a more intimate setting in a gig (cheap plug: review) in Manchester, Jay Leighton makes pop full of longing. Here’s ‘Night and day’, from his previous album, Polaroids and Stills. A new album is planned for Spring 2011.
