It’s a year of good tidings for us fans of Wye Oak. First, the gorgeous aural hurricane that was Tween and now a brand new track by Flock of Dimes.
‘Semaphore’ pushes forward Jenn Wasner’s love of electronic-drenched bedroom pop, adding bits of jangly guitar to the oniric nature of the song. Like the amazing cover of ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over‘, ‘Semaphore’ ingrains itself into your conscience. Catchy? Certainly! Satisfying? Of course! Great precursor to an eagerly awaited album (at least on this shithole of a website….).
Semaphore signs in the distance. Asking for help? Offering help? Holler if you see me, hoot if you welcome me. If you see me, say yes is out on Partisan Records, September 23rd. Pre-order available now.
