Model Village / The Puncture Repair Kit 7″ split

The good folks of Towed by the ghost released this week a 7″ split for the lovely bands Model Village and The Puncture Repair Kit. How do they fare? Read on

Model Village‘s ‘Josefina’ starts very sweetly, with a playful bass and Rachel’s voice seeping slowly. Then the whole band joins in and makes this a very nice ditty, harmless and full of an uplifting sense of accomplishment. Those keyboard notes and the glockenspiel cameos that rear their head from time to time just make it even sweeter.

The Puncture Repair Kit‘s ‘Murder’s probably wrong’ gets a clean bill just from the title alone. An added bonus would be the banjo (always a good thing in these affairs) and the general Americana feel of it makes it quite delectable. There’s some regret in the song, but it probably has to do more with the fact that the narrator of the song probably got nicked by C.S.I. : Las Tweelands* than anything else. Fluffy and nice.

You can listen to this 7″ at Towed by the ghost‘s Bandcamp.
