Band of the week : Bad Grammar

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of Bad Grammar (both the band and in my writing style.) The duo of Lucy Brown and have been rocked my world during The Dark Days before I left England, first opening for Giant Drag, then shaking the dust off The Bowery. They also made it to one of our mixes.

Noisy, slightly paranoic and sweet as an eccles cakes are but a few adjectives I could peg on their music, but I’d rather let them represent themselves; their songs are apt business cards (thing that scene from American Psycho.)

The pun-filled songs and that expansive racket that comes from a duo are everywhere on their new EP, Forced Fun,out today on Flatpack Records, with a sleeve that makes me think of Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs cereal and Saturday morning cartoons. Expect a review posted here soon.

In the meantime, here’s Temper Temper.  Watch it and make Monday less gloomy!
