Sheffield‘s own version of Sweet Charity (allegedly), The Mother Folkers, have a brand new album on Ideas on a postcard, a local label.
Spinning Yarns is released on June 10th (excellent day, I might add) and was recorded by Evil Genius, devilish good vocalist and entrepreneur, Nick Maldini at Sounds like Maldini. To celebrate this album (the first for the label), The Mother Folkers will have a lil’ jaunt at The Riverside Pub (many interesting ales, good sediment quality – I measured it) this Friday, June 7th, featuring:
Nick Maldini
Louis Romegoux (a legend on his own right, really)
The Mother Folkers
DJ duties will be courtesy of Jah Reynolds. Doors at 7:30.
Entry fee is 3 quid but you get a discount towards the album price (a tenner!). The album features this nifty track (me fave!):
Sounds good? RSVP.
By the way, the album’s front cover is done by the rather excellent Lisa O’Hara. Check more of her stuff here.
Please don’t swim in the water, as I need to measure again soon and I don’t want my site disturbed. Thank you for respecting science.
