Free stuff, you guys…

First of all, happy 2011! Second of all… ah, sod it, here’s links to free shit we dig.

-Sheffield’s own Pete David & The Payroll Union serve you up a slow burning lamentation that although a bit long, doesn’t outstay its welcome. Love the banjo-heavy instrumental break near the end. Oh, and the song is called ‘Abigail’ and you can get it very free right here. Love this type of Americana.

-The Klaxons. Who are they? What do they play? And why won’t they put cats in their album covers? All horrible questions, so how about something nice, as in, a free EP called Landmarks of Lunacy and which you can get in their website. ‘Marble Fields’ is me fave.

-More from Sheffield? Well, Jon McClure, Roots Manuva and Blak Twang got together and reworked a song from Reverend and the Makers. The song? ‘Hidden Persuaders’. The link? Here.

-Still more from Sheffield? How about a full free EP by The Unfortunate Incident? C’mon! It has happy but depressing songs and one awesome rocky number called ‘Fire’. Get it now.
