EP Round Up : Adi Carter, Deaf Club, Good Weather for an Airstrike, The Violet May

Hullo, guvs and guvnettes, this is our always late EP round up, where we trawl through the titanic troves of tinnitus-inducing music and bring you the best of what’s around. Or at least what WE think it’s the best of what’s around.

Remember: don’t adjust your opinion.

In our usual analogy form, we will be comparing each of these EPs to something cool and entertaining. For this week’s edition, I’m comparing each EP to a character from David Mamet‘s Glengarry Glen Ross. Sounds good? Read on. Sounds bad? Uh, please read on. My ego needs to be read. Podcast : Tramlines 2013 mix

It’s once more the time where Sheffield throws the house out of the window (i.e. going all out for the win, spare no expense, etc) and assembles some mighty musicians to do their magic for the pleasure of the honourable guest, the audience.

With the cornucopia of bands on display, you could struggle to choose where to start. Fret not! We have been going through the lists, times and received plenty of bribes to bring you this lil’ mix. 20 songs. 20 bands. 5 blocks of 4 bands who go quite well together.

Venues were correct at time of printing (I nicked the info from the official SXSW page). Continue reading “Bands to look for at SXSW 2013”

Greetings, readers! I was kicked out of an artsy fartsy gig the other day. Why? I dunno, but one day I’ll reveal the truth and it will be as massive as Wikileaks, but with more kebabs and less sexual harassing (alleged or not). Why am I not allowed to walk into a venue wearing noodles? I want to wear noodles, you obey, ok? You are insulting my pastafarian beliefs if you chuck me out of your lil’ venue, you bald-headed gorilla!

Phew, sorry, for a minute there, I lost myself, I lost myself. This week’s singles come courtesy of Red House Painters, because they were awesome, yo!

Ah, singles, right:
