The previous post I wrote for Sloucher got me a warning from the AI censorbots from threads. Apparently, the cover art from Those Darlins counts as “sex solicitation”, or so says threads, who don’t even have a button to reply, just a few kafkian options and none applies to “the album has a cover with naked people”.
Fuck off, threads.
Speaking of sanctimonious busy bodies, Pink Floyd is a band that always gets strong opinions, both for and against. And even the for people can’t really agree on which iteration of the band they like best.
Some prefer Syd Barrett’s psychedelia. Others devote themselves to Roger Waters’ long winded speeches and continuous breakdowns. Lastly, there’s a legion who prefers David Gilmour’s over polished blues licks.
You can like all three, my dudes. I love the division bell, but animals hits different. I guess it’s my love of animal farm.
The incident with threads reminded me of Mary Whitehouse and her stupid close minded demeanor. Nothing kills art faster than censorship and her Draconian ways damaged art, TV and music. Good on people like Dr Who writers and Pink Floyd to make fun of her idiotic ways. I wish I was talented enough to do so, instead, I’ll recommend Pigs (three different ones) today.
