Government ads in Mexico in the eighties always used instrumental music. Vangelis, Ray Lynch and Jean-Michel Jarre were quite popular due to this.

Jarre’s album covers were always a thing of beauty. Artistic in that European comic book kinda way, Equinoxe and Zoolook are usually the ones I’d imagine are his favourites.

Rendez-vous IV continues Jarre’s usual multipart song approach. The same title gets different stages, with the leitmotif always present. You’d get an eerie part. Maybe a slow drone. But always there’d be a dancey upbeat track. IV is that one and I can’t help but bob my head to it.
