Fame is tricky. Fame can be at your grasp and then get plucked away just like that. It could be your own fault due to hubris. It could also be out of your control, like an overexcited exec that decides to fuck up your lead single by using a shit remix.
So happened to Babylon Zoo and their debut single, Spaceman. Someone decided to add a drum n bass bit with a squealing voice repeating “spaceman, spaceman”, selling a whole different single to the public, making anyone buying the album feel ripped off. True, because they were.
It killed the band right there, right then, and it’s a shame, because the album has some decent tracks, and Spaceman is a grungy meditation. Hope you like it as much as I do. It reminds me of the whole year of ’96, with Spacehog’s in the meantime being a nice chaser for the otherwordliness of this track.
