Spotlight on : Everyone An Army

Everyone an army is a band from Scarborough that was summoned to the near vicinity of Sheffield (let’s say Barnsley because they hired a shit wizard for their teleport) to bring a lot of post rock and math rock shenanigans for our unholy ears.

They’ve released two EPs, one’s called EP (our review) and the other one is called  A coastal Dance on the Grave of Romance (our review). Yes, we really enjoyed them, so much that we interviewed them a while ago. Then we emotionally blackmailed them from a 24 hour diner in México via email to donate a track to one of our very fine mix cds (get your free copy here) and, heck, we put them in our “Best of 2011” list. That’s not related to the fact that they gave a track, it takes more to bribe us.

The band always gives a fantastic show. I had the pleasure of watching them in a battle of the bands thing at the Hallam Hubs in a strange night when I got married and divorced outside a pub (again, not related to their music). They also played in our first (and so far only) curated gig of 2012 at Soyo, with some equally awesome bands.

Now, Everyone an army is recording new music, but in this strange world, money is required to make the mojo flow from digits into strings (or skins) and into permanent records that can be played over and over again. That means: recording new music costs moolah. The band is now offering all (and that is ALL) their back catalogue for the price of one pound. Not the proverbial pound of flesh that The Bard said in Merchant of Venice, but an actual bob/quid/pound/libra esterlina.

Just one pound for 23 songs. It’s cheaper than stealing milkshakes from finches in the park and probably better for your soul.

So, go and consume mass quantities.
