Dandy Overdose – La Noise Fabrique

Who the fuck are these boys then pounding my ears with some pretty intense shoegazing 1960‘s surf garage? I love that keyboard sound like the early Floyd . Its kind of Lo Fi and the drummer is mean and uncomplicated. Psychedelic ? Oh yes.

And that’s only the first track by Dandy Overdose. Oh my, this sounds like the Beatles (‘Rockman’), this is NICE and I haven’t a clue what is going on because they are Mexican dudes, I think. My cup of tea this.

‘Donde’ has jangly guitars and drives along very nicely, thank you. I am reminded of The New Candys, those Italian cats who played with the Violet May at the Bowery recently. ‘Amanence’ is a spiky tune not short on menace with some great harmonies.

This very cool e.p. called La Noise Fabrique finishes with ‘She Rides’, more echoing vocals driving guitar and superb unexpected turns. This would not be out of place on Lenny Kaye’s Nuggets box set. Possibly the best NEW stuff I have had the pleasure of listening to this year.
Check it out folks.

I need to find my shades and go for a drive along some Mexican coastline preferably with these dudes and maybe editor Orestes? We could stop for tortillas and beer, light a big bonfire and watch for u.f.o.s in the night. Wanna come S.J.V.L. (editor’s note: of course, guv!)?

Words: Keefy.
